Sustainability
Sustainability Snapshot (ESG)
A quick view of Environmental, Social, and Governance progress for your project in FolioProjects.
What is the Sustainability Snapshot?
The Snapshot turns recent activity into three scores—Environmental (E), Social (S), and Governance (G)—plus a simple Total. Scores range from 0–100.
- Higher is better. A score near 100 means strong performance.
- Arrows show short-term trend (up, down, or flat).
- Status shows On Track, At Risk, or Off Track.
Where do the numbers come from?
Environmental (E)
Reflects estimated or measured emissions and related resource use.
- Estimates are used until meters or invoices are connected.
- When real data is added, the score updates automatically.
Social (S)
Combines recent sentiment and engagement around your project.
- Sentiment: community votes.
- Engagement: unique participants visiting your project page.
Governance (G)
Summarizes risk posture and follow-through.
- Fewer open/high-severity risks improves the score.
- Recently resolved risks also help.
What are ESG rollups?
FolioProjects automatically “rolls up” raw resource readings into higher-level summaries. For example, daily energy use, waste diversion logs, and sentiment votes are aggregated into clear ESG indicators that you can view at the level of a single project, an individual asset, or across an entire portfolio. Rollups ensure stakeholders see consistent, auditable metrics without needing to interpret raw data.
How to read the card
- Score (0–100): today’s view of recent performance.
- Arrow: ▲ improving, ▼ declining, → steady.
- Status: On Track (≥ 75), At Risk (50–74), Off Track (< 50).
- Total: average of E, S, and G.
- No data yet? You may see dashes (—) if a project is brand new or quiet.
How can I improve my scores?
Environmental
- Add estimates or connect real data (meters, invoices).
- Log offsets or reductions tied to your project.
Social
- Share your project and invite community votes.
- Post updates and respond to comments.
Governance
- Review open risks and close completed items.
- Capture new risks early.
Privacy & transparency
- Engagement totals are shown in aggregate; individual visits are not exposed.
- Sentiment uses vote counts, not voter identities.
- Environmental data starts as estimates and transitions to real data when connected.
Frequently asked questions
How often does the Snapshot update?
Scores refresh as new activity happens. Trend arrows update throughout the day.
Why did my score change?
As new votes, visits, risks, or resource data arrive, scores and arrows can move.
What if my Total is high but one category is low?
That’s a signal to focus on the weaker area. Strong Social and Governance may not offset missing Environmental data.
Is this a certification?
No. It’s a guide to help track and communicate progress—not a compliance badge.
What’s next?
Today the Snapshot is shown on project pages. Coming expansions include:
- Profiles: aggregate across a person’s projects.
- Portfolios: rollups across multiple projects.
- Assets/Resources: focused view for individual assets.
