🧾 Project Overview

The existing staircase has carpet on the steps and a crack in the stringer. Our goal is to remove the carpet and replace the stringer. To accomplish this goal, we also need to to update or replace the risers, nosing, threads, handrail, balusters, and newel. In addition, since the stringer was cracked from abuse, we will change its dimensions to be thicker making it a 2x10 piece vs the original 1X10. This will not change the dimensions of the staircase but should increase the rigidity of this weak component in the staircase. To further increase the rigidity of the resulting staircase, we will utilize high quality kiln dried wood.
